Treasury Assistant

Use the AI-powered Treasury Assistant to ask questions about your cash flows, transactions, and accounts.

Last updated March 3, 2026

Overview

The Treasury Assistant is an AI-powered chat interface built into TreasuryPath. It can answer questions about your cash flows, transactions, account balances, and forecast scenarios using the data already in your workspace. Think of it as a team member who has instant access to all your treasury data and can surface answers without you needing to navigate through reports.

Starting a Conversation

Click the chat button in the bottom-right corner of the screen to open the Treasury Assistant drawer. Type your question in natural language and press Enter.

The assistant streams its response in real time, so you see the answer as it is generated. Responses can include formatted text, tables, lists, and numbers pulled directly from your data.

What You Can Ask

The Treasury Assistant understands questions about your treasury data in context. Here are some examples:

Cash position questions:

  • “What is our total available cash right now?”
  • “How much idle cash do we have across all accounts?”
  • “What is our credit utilization?”

Transaction questions:

  • “Show me the largest inflows this month”
  • “What transactions came from [counterparty name] in the last 30 days?”
  • “Summarize our outflows by category for February”

Forecast questions:

  • “What does our cash position look like in 90 days?”
  • “Are there any forecasted shortfalls in the next quarter?”
  • “Compare the primary scenario to [scenario name]”

Account questions:

  • “Which accounts have the highest balances?”
  • “What is the APY on our money market positions?”
  • “When do our term deposits mature?”

Chat History and Sessions

Each conversation is saved as a chat session. You can:

  • Start a new chat to begin a fresh conversation on a different topic
  • View past sessions to revisit previous questions and answers
  • Delete sessions you no longer need

The assistant retains context within a session, so follow-up questions work naturally. If you ask “What is our idle cash?” and then ask “Which accounts is it in?”, the assistant understands “it” refers to idle cash.

Tips for Getting Good Answers

  • Be specific about time periods - “What were our inflows last month?” gives a better answer than “What were our inflows?”
  • Name entities and accounts - If you manage multiple entities, specify which one you are asking about
  • Ask follow-up questions - The assistant keeps context within a session, so you can drill down progressively
  • Use it for quick lookups - Instead of navigating to the transactions page and filtering, ask the assistant directly
  • Ask about the current page - The assistant is aware of what page you are viewing and can answer questions about the data shown on screen
